GLASSDEMIC-19: a zine for people wearing glasses during the pandemic
It’s a vehicle to share my experiences of trying to make human connections whilst coming up against mask-induced-fogging and screen-induced Zoom glare… ALL VIA THE MEDIUM OF PAPER MARBLING.
To make lenses inspired by the screen reflections on my glasses when I use Zoom I use Suminagashi – originally from Japan, where ink is floated on water. To make lenses inspired by the way my glasses fog up when I wear I mask I use Ebru – originally from Turkey, where paint is floated on water thickened with powdered sea weed.
YOU CAN CHECK OUT THE B/W FULL DIGITAL VERSION OF THE ZINE HERE
And below are snaps of the zine being sold alongside “designer glasses” and “custom lenses” that can be marbled onto by zine-buyers using the techniques featured in the zine.
