Using giant fingers to illustrate the proportional dimensions of windows, extractor fans and tables within the space, the history of aspect ratio is explored alongside the various benefits and disadvantages of the standardization shift of monitor aspect ratio from the “standard TV” ratio of 4:3 to the anamorphic widescreen ratio of 2.39:1.
