Fangirling From Home (FFH)<\/em><\/strong> is a home-made devotional shrine dedicated to the K-pop idol groups BTS and SEVENTEEN. The shrine is a compilation of original artworks by sympathetic family and friends alongside official merchandise, photos printed from the internet and repurposed household items (like toilet rolls and ikea shelving). The shrine hangs in my living room, where I consume a high proportion of my BTS\/SEVENTEEN content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With thanks to Jules for the SEVENTEEN photo cards, Robin Cooper for the drawings of BTS\u2019 Jimin (my ultimate bias), Beryl Foster for the painting of \u2018stargazer\u2019 lilies – I\u2019m not sure what she would\u2019ve thought of her lilies being part of this shrine but with a name like \u2018stargazer\u2019 there was no other option. The camouflaged carrot print by Marcus Orlandi refers to the name for someone (ARMYCARAT) who belongs to the fandoms of both BTS (ARMY) and SEVENTEEN (CARAT). The banner features a phrase that\u2019s used by K-pop fans when they\u2019re so overwhelmed by the charm of their idols that they want to \u201cwreck the earth\u201d. I made it with lots of help from Marcus for his Hidden Voices project for Thamesmead Festival in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
