A workshop and poster series about the professionalisation of friendships, the difficulties of working with friends, and working with people in emotionally manipulative professional capacities.

Ed Sheeran went on Desert Island Discs with Kirsty Young and said something like:

I lost myself for a bit… until I realised that my 12 really really close school mates had always been a sort of constant thread of sanity for me so now I employ 4 of them and they work on my tour... I really wanna stress the point:me employing people that are my friends is not me putting people on the pay roll so they can be yes men. It’s completely the opposite: they’re really not scared for their jobs. Basically they will say how it is.

So this is a scenario to ask and answer questions, namely:
Ed Sheeran... do your friends get TOIL?
Do you pay their expenses?
Could they go freelance if they wanted to?
Or part time?
How do you measure their performance?
Can they get promoted?
Do you offer them a pension scheme?
Do they qualify for union representation?

How much is their friendship worth, like as a salary?
Do you write out a five year plan with them?
Do you give them appraisals?
Do you ask them what you can do to help them become a better friend?

Cos I’m curious, I guess.
