Adjusting, Adapting
.......................................................................................................................................
Adjusting, Adapting explores the lack of convergence of Disability Arts and "the mainstream" art scene. The two hands are hellbent on their course, one forging straight ahead and the other looping around; one protruding and one supporting that protuberance. Who is the one who is asked to adapt? Through the repetition of each course there are points where their routes converge. These points of connection and commonality are for now unclaimed. However the futuristic synths that accompany the drawing could signify a time ahead when differing capacities are accepted across all bodies whether abled or disabled, an expanded field of experience is celebrated and interdependency is valued more highly than some kind of (un)radical self-sufficiency.
